My point is that there's no need to involve a browser at all. Just execute php test.php . The second code is invalid by the way. The question does not forbid errors but error output, meaning errors, warning, notices, etc.

@Dennis PHP outputs anything. You can always use CTRL-U in your browser to see the output. HTML might be invalid, but in fact the program is not (there is no <HTML> tag etc.)

However, PHP can be run from the command line, just like any other programming language, where the output is simply printed to the screen. | |
