Sep 21, 2016 at 3:15 comment added user56309 It should be noted on snippet 31 that this is not a common solution, as often ' and " are on the same key.

Jun 25, 2016 at 2:35 comment added user8397947 But it Java, [goto] triggers a mysterious RuntimeException Wrong. goto doesn't even compile.
May 6, 2016 at 15:05 comment added Bálint ClassCastException is not an exception you usually throw.
Apr 28, 2016 at 19:32 comment added cat -1 for Java. (I upvoted, I promise)

Jan 28, 2015 at 13:18 comment added Natix It seems that the snippet #36 is recursive and can be extended indefinitely: class A{class B extends A{B.B.B.B.B.B.B b;}} still compiles.

Jan 22, 2015 at 16:18 comment added Fabio Filippi @Ypnypn sometimes endless loops create compiling errors, sometimes they "avoid" them: String x() {while(true);} is valid code.
Jan 22, 2015 at 8:08 comment added Rodolfo Dias This is exactly why I left Java for other people. So much stuff I had no idea it could be done in it...

Jan 19, 2015 at 19:33 comment added Ypnypn @Optimizer Yes - hence the word "often"
Jan 19, 2015 at 19:28 comment added Ypnypn @Optimizer Well, the infinite loop causes the statement to be unreachable, which causes the compile error, so it's transitively true.
Jan 19, 2015 at 17:48 comment added Optimizer In java, infinite loops do not cause compiler error. Its your IDE that detects them and produce an error. Java simply has a concept of Unreachable statements, so if you have something like while(true); in your code, anything put after that line will throw a compile error of Unreachable statement. The logic behind detecting such statements is very strict, so it will not recognize all infinite loops by any means
