Sep 5, 2014 at 17:29 comment added Geobits My approach also guess individual words and doesn't "need" the final query for most cases, so I know what you mean. Either way, I'm quite impressed with all the top entries.
Sep 5, 2014 at 17:23 comment added COTO Indeed. I say "useless" in the sense that the queries don't yield any new or useful information in my case. However, it's also fair to point out that this is a drawback of my particular approach. I was hoping that the max entropy queries would more than make up for it, but it looks like I'm about a hundred or two short. ;)
Sep 5, 2014 at 17:15 comment added Geobits The "useless validation" queries aren't useless. Whether you look at it as password cracking or as Mastermind, you don't win until you actually log in or play the winning move. That said, damn well done.

Aug 30, 2014 at 4:11 comment added COTO I've updated to rev. 1, which includes the validating query. Not surprisingly, the number of queries is exactly 1,000 greater than the previous version.

Aug 30, 2014 at 4:03 comment added COTO The current code doesn't include a "validating" query. I'll add one now.
