May 19, 2014 at 4:33 comment added Gaurang Tandon @lochok I choose scoring in characters because that would give a fair advantage (I suppose) to everyone. Consider this meta thread: the TI-BASIC program has 43 chars but just 22 bytes! It was from this thread that I decided to use chars for scoring, rather than bytes.
May 18, 2014 at 23:40 comment added lochok You can generally avoid any concern with the use of Unicode Characters by measuring the score in Bytes rather then in Characters. Those require between 2 and 6 bytes per extended character (in UTF-8 - see stackoverflow.com/questions/775412/…)

May 16, 2014 at 3:57 comment added Gaurang Tandon @Floris I never knew this. Well, we can't do anything now, the rules have already changed much, and I don't want to keep changing them to further annoy the answerers. Thanks for the suggestion though!
May 16, 2014 at 3:54 comment added Gaurang Tandon @DigitalTrauma if by Round to nearest, you mean to the nearest 6-th decimal digit, then yes, it is still a requirement.
May 16, 2014 at 3:54 comment added Gaurang Tandon @Charles Ok, thanks, fixing.

May 16, 2014 at 1:21 comment added Floris Requiring the equivalent of a mod 2pi operation to make the inputs converge faster would be rather useful - it's one of many improvements that the real world uses when dealing with these functions. (actually mod pi and sign awareness).
May 15, 2014 at 18:04 comment added Digital Trauma Is "Round to nearest" still a requirement, or can we use any built-in rounding facilities? e.g. round towards zero?
May 15, 2014 at 18:03 comment added Not that Charles In the first paragraph, it should be "sine", not "sin"
