@Giuseppe, thanks - I never took input using generating function in R , so I went with the familiar scan . As per using combn - I also have thought of that, but outputting as matrices is too far-fetched for me.

Alternately, 56 bytes using combn ; here we do need to use T because combn(3,1) returns matrix(c(1,2,3)) , though this output format might be a mild stretch of the rules.
