Sep 10, 2017 at 3:03 comment added Jonathan Frech I think you might be able to replace your pattern string '[^aeiouy]([^aeiouy]|$)' (24 bytes) with "[^aeiouy]("*2+")|$)" (21 bytes) to save 3 bytes, as the empty group, (), does not change the search behavior (TIO).
