Apr 4, 2017 at 21:29 comment added Synoli @StephenTouset You can move +"\r" to the right of the array. This enables you to use ['%02d']*4*?: instead of '%02d:'*4+"\b " so you can lose the parentheses, which nets you one byte. Save yet another byte by writing +?\r instead of +"\r".
Apr 4, 2017 at 17:44 comment added Eric Duminil You're welcome. This clock might still be 1s early though, even with .to_r instead of .to_f

Apr 4, 2017 at 17:34 comment added Stephen Touset Thanks! Tied with PHP now. :) I used to_r instead of to_f to preserve precision.

Apr 4, 2017 at 12:50 comment added Eric Duminil Working with hours instead of seconds seems to save 3 bytes : loop{h=431664-Time.now.to_f/3600;$><<('%02d:'*4+"\b \r")%[h/24,h%24,h%1*60,3600*h%60]} Seconds might be off by 1 though, due to rounding.
