I saw there was codegolf on SO, and some people were answering with Vim. And the answers were not exactly at an elite level. Maybe I can change that.

Unfortunately, the rules for replying to a codegolf question in a text editor are disturbingly wishy-washy. While vimgolf.com rules have a couple gray areas, they hardly ever show up. The format of the site does a good job of setting the rules down pretty firm. How much I answer here will depend on how firmly I can define the rules, because I don't want to waste time clarifying and arguing on every single post, and being annoyed by other's answers that used different rules from mine.
