I have a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. I started my career coding in C and C++ and then transitioned to mostly work with Java since 2002. Before all that, in the 1980's and 90's I coded in BASIC and Assembler on Commodore 64s and Amiga personal computers. I play around with small projects using Raspberry Pis. I know HTML, CSS, and Javascript, but I find web browsers a hideous environment for running code. Browser based applications may be easy to deliver, but they all suffer from browser bugs and other restrictions which makes them unappealing. I prefer to write cross-platform applications with Java and JavaFX. I'm interested in machine learning/AI and robotics as well.
