Integers are "whole numbers," i.e. real numbers with no fractional portion. They constitute the basis for several areas of mathematics, such as number theory. This tag should be used for challenges which require the use and manipulation of integers.
There are also various subsets of integers which have agreed upon definitions:
- Positive: \$n > 0\$
- Negative: \$n < 0\$
- Nonpositive: \$n \le 0\$
- Nonnegative: \$n \ge 0\$
Positive integers are also known as natural numbers.
