It builds a list that looks like this: ["P1", "T234", "G567", "M890", "k123"]. Then it deletes the first letter. When I remove the "P", it can't fill the "P1" string. | |

As you noticed above, P is not required.

You can change the JJ to S (which implicitly flattens) to output as a list of characters instead of a string, which is allowed when a string output is asked by default. (You could add a J in the footer if you want to pretty-print it.)
