You can't do x,*y=1,2,3 in Python 2.7 or [*x] in Python 3.4, but starred expressions can be used for function arguments even in Python 1.6. Try it online!

@Dennis Thank you! I thought lambda*l wasn't possible in Python 2 for some reason.

f=lambda*l:l[3:]and[map(sum,zip(*d))for d in zip(*l)]or f(zip(*l[0][::-1]),*l) saves two bytes with "normal" input. Try it online!
